Section 01

Partnership & Onboarding

How to become a Paltrix certified installer, requirements, pricing structure, and what to expect from the partnership.

QHow do I become a Paltrix certified installer?

Submit your shop information through our contact page. Our partnership team reviews your application within 1-2 business days, conducts a brief introductory call to understand your business, market, and volume expectations, then schedules your certification session.

Certification includes product knowledge training, a hands-on installation assessment with Paltrix film, and setup of your installer portal account. Once certified, you receive access to wholesale pricing, plotter template database, marketing materials, and listing on the Paltrix installer directory.

QWhat are the requirements for installer certification?

You need a commercial installation space with climate control (temperature and humidity management), professional plotter equipment (any major brand is fine), demonstrated experience with PPF or high-end vinyl wrap installation, and standard business liability insurance.

We do not require prior colored PPF experience — our certification training covers the specific techniques for pigmented films. You also do not need to be an existing Paltrix customer or have any prior relationship with the brand.

QIs there a minimum order quantity to become a Paltrix installer?

No fixed MOQ. Your initial order starts with a sample kit so you can work with the film hands-on, get comfortable with its handling characteristics, and evaluate it before committing to inventory volumes. Once certified, you order what you need per job or stock at whatever level makes sense for your shop's volume and cash flow.

Volume-based pricing tiers apply as your order volume grows, but there is no penalty or price disadvantage for starting small.

QDoes Paltrix require exclusivity? Can I offer other PPF brands alongside Paltrix?

No exclusivity requirement. We understand that most shops carry multiple brands to serve different customer segments and price points. Many Paltrix installers carry our colored PPF alongside a clear PPF brand (like XPEL or STEK) for full-wrap protection, or position Paltrix Chroma as their premium color-change offering while offering economy films for budget-conscious customers.

The only commitment we ask is that you represent the Paltrix brand accurately and install our products to the quality standard covered in certification training.

Section 02

Product Technical Specifications

Material science, film construction, adhesive chemistry, and color consistency engineering — the data installers need to evaluate and sell Paltrix products.

QWhat TPU specification does Paltrix use in its PPF films?

Paltrix uses polyether-based aliphatic TPU with 7.5 mil total construction: 0.5 mil self-healing elastomeric top coat, 6.0 mil pigmented TPU core, and 1.0 mil crosslinked acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive with laser-etched air-release micro-channels at 200-micron spacing.

Read full technical guide →
QHow does Paltrix ensure color consistency between production batches?

Paltrix uses spectrophotometric color matching with a Delta-E tolerance under 1.0 between production batches. Each batch is measured against a master reference standard using a calibrated spectrophotometer and must pass both instrumental verification and visual inspection under D65 daylight simulation before release.

For metallic and pearl finishes, we additionally measure flop index (the change in reflectance as viewing angle shifts) to ensure consistent metallic appearance across batches. A Delta-E of less than 1.0 is below the threshold of human perception — two panels from different production batches will appear identical to even a trained eye.

QWhat adhesive technology does Paltrix PPF use, and how does it perform during installation?

Paltrix adhesive is a crosslinked acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) with three key properties optimized for installation:

  • Medium-low initial tack — provides a 30-60 second repositioning window before permanent bond formation begins, giving your installers time to align panel edges and adjust stretch on complex contours.
  • 25+ N/25mm ultimate peel strength after 24-hour full cure, sufficient to prevent edge lift even on high-curvature areas like mirror caps and bumper returns.
  • Hexagonal micro-channel air-release pattern at 200-micron spacing, laser-etched into the adhesive layer, providing multiple evacuation paths for trapped air regardless of squeegee direction.

Fully compatible with standard slip solutions (baby shampoo at 1:200 dilution, or commercial gel-based slip agents). The adhesive's high crosslink density prevents surfactant penetration and "adhesive washout" — a common failure mode in economy films where lift edges appear 3-7 days post-installation.

Section 03

Installation, Equipment & Workflow Support

Plotter compatibility, cutting parameters, training programs, technical documentation, and how Paltrix PPF integrates into your shop's daily operations.

QWhat plotter systems and cutting software does Paltrix support?

Paltrix PPF is compatible with all major plotter systems: Graphtec FC and CE series (most common in North American shops), Summa S Class and F Series, Roland CAMM-1 GR and GS series, and DAP (Digital Auto Plotter) systems.

We provide vehicle templates in DXF and EPS format covering 2,500+ models from 2015 to present, with monthly updates. Recommended cutting parameters for colored PPF: 45° standard blade at 0.6 mm depth, 90-120 gf force (higher end for metallic/pearl), 25-30 cm/s speed. Note: metallic and pearl series films contain hard platelet pigments that will accelerate blade wear by approximately 30-40% — budget accordingly and inspect cut edges under magnification regularly.

QDoes Paltrix provide installation training for my team?

Yes. Certification includes comprehensive hands-on training covering colored PPF-specific techniques that differ from clear film installation:

  • Stretch limit management — colored PPF reaches its elastic limit at approximately 18-22% elongation (vs. 25-30% for clear PPF). Exceeding this creates visible stretch marks where pigment particles realign permanently.
  • Heat and steam parameters — optimal temperature windows for forming colored PPF around deep concave panels without pigment degradation.
  • Contamination protocols — stricter surface preparation because colored PPF opacity makes any trapped contaminant visible.
  • Post-cure inspection checklist — what to check at 48 and 72 hours to catch and correct issues before customer delivery.

Quarterly advanced workshops are offered covering new techniques, new product lines, and complex installation scenarios.

QWhat installation environment does Paltrix recommend for colored PPF?

Climate-controlled installation bay at 18-24°C (65-75°F) with humidity management. Colored PPF requires a cleaner environment than clear film because opacity means any trapped dust or fiber creates a visible defect that cannot be hidden by underlying paint color.

Specific recommendations: HEPA filtration or positive-pressure bay to minimize airborne particulates, IPA wipedown at 70% concentration (not the 25-30% commonly used for clear PPF), and tack cloth pass immediately before laying film on each panel. A well-lit inspection area with diffused daylight-spectrum lighting is essential for catching installation defects before customer delivery.

QWhat technical resources do you provide for my installation team?

We provide comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed installation guides and thermal imaging distribution data, to ensure your team achieves a flawless finish on every installation. These resources cover everything from surface preparation protocols and stretch limit guidelines to post-cure inspection checklists and troubleshooting common installation scenarios.

Certified installers access these technical resources through their portal dashboard, with new content added as we develop improved techniques and encounter new vehicle platforms.

QHow does Paltrix PPF integrate into my shop's existing workflow?

Our films are engineered for ease of handling and fast adhesion properties, specifically designed to reduce installation time and increase your shop's daily throughput capacity. The medium-low initial tack provides a comfortable repositioning window while the air-release channel adhesive eliminates the need for time-consuming bubble removal.

For shops transitioning from clear PPF or vinyl wrap, the learning curve is minimal. The primary differences are in stretch management and contamination control, both of which are covered thoroughly in certification training. Most experienced installers are producing saleable results by their second or third full-vehicle Paltrix installation.

Contact our sales team through the contact page or your installer portal to request a customized partner pricing proposal tailored to your order volume and business model. We work with each partner individually to build a pricing structure that supports your margins and growth goals.

Section 05

Warranty & Dedicated Support

Manufacturer warranty coverage, claims process, dedicated installer support channels, customer-facing warranty tools, and installer protection programs.

QWhat is Paltrix's warranty policy for installers and their customers?

Paltrix provides a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering: yellowing, fading, color shift, cracking, blistering, and delamination. The warranty covers material defects in the film itself — it does not cover installation workmanship issues, damage from accidents or abuse, or improper maintenance.

As the installer, you handle the customer-facing warranty process: you inspect the vehicle, submit the claim through your portal, and perform the replacement installation. Paltrix covers the material replacement cost. Installation labor is covered by your shop or can be added through our optional Installer Protection Program, which reimburses labor at a flat rate per panel for approved warranty claims.

QHow do I file a warranty claim for a Paltrix installation?

Submit the claim through your installer portal dashboard with the following: clear photos of the affected area (wide shot showing panel location plus close-up of the defect), the original installation date and roll batch number (found on the roll label or in your portal order history), and a brief description of the observed issue.

Claims are reviewed within 48 hours by our technical team. Approved claims ship replacement material within 1-2 business days. For claims requiring technical assessment beyond photo review, we may schedule a video call or, in rare cases, an in-person inspection.

QWhat warranty materials do I provide to my customers after a Paltrix installation?

Every Paltrix installation should include three customer-facing warranty touchpoints:

  • Warranty certificate — a printed document with customer name, vehicle VIN, installation date, film product and color, your shop information, and the unique Paltrix roll serial number. We provide a template you can fill and print.
  • Warranty card — a wallet-sized card summarizing warranty coverage and care instructions, with the verify.paltrixppf.com URL for digital verification.
  • Digital warranty registration — when the customer verifies their installation at verify.paltrixppf.com using their unique code, their warranty is activated in our system and they can access it digitally at any time.

This verification system also serves as an anti-counterfeiting measure, giving your customers confidence that they received genuine Paltrix product installed by a certified professional.

QDo you provide dedicated warranty support for certified installers?

Yes. All certified partners receive comprehensive manufacturer warranty coverage with a dedicated support channel, ensuring you can confidently stand behind every installation with full factory backing. This means when a warranty situation arises, you are not navigating a generic customer service queue — you have direct access to our technical warranty team who understand installer-specific concerns.

The dedicated support channel handles warranty claim reviews, technical assessments, replacement material coordination, and any questions about coverage scope or claim documentation, all with priority response times for certified partners.

Section 06

Marketing & Business Growth

Marketing materials, pricing guidance, lead generation, and how Paltrix supports your shop's growth beyond product supply.

QWhat marketing materials does Paltrix provide to help me sell colored PPF?

Certified installers receive a full marketing kit: 30-color swatch book and display stand for your showroom, digital vehicle render kit to show customers Paltrix colors on their specific car model, co-branded marketing templates (social media posts, email campaigns, print ads) that you can customize with your shop branding, and customer-facing product brochures that explain colored PPF benefits in a clear, convincing way.

We also provide installation video content (time-lapse and process footage) for your social channels, and your shop gets listed on the Paltrix installer directory which drives customer leads directly to you. These are not theoretical — they are live assets available in your portal after certification.

QHow should I price Paltrix PPF installations to my customers?

Paltrix films are positioned in the premium tier of the colored PPF market. We provide MSRP guidance based on current market analysis to help you price competitively while maintaining healthy margins. Full-vehicle colored PPF typically retails at $5,000-$10,000+ depending on vehicle size, color series (metallic and pearl finishes command a premium), and installation complexity.

Your shop sets final pricing based on your local market, labor rates, shop overhead, and any value-add services you bundle (paint correction, ceramic coating overlay, maintenance packages). We are happy to share anonymized pricing data from our installer network to help you benchmark your rates against comparable shops in similar markets.

QHow does Paltrix actively support my business growth beyond product supply?

Paltrix's installer partnership goes beyond wholesale product distribution. The growth support includes:

  • Installer directory listing — your shop is listed on the Paltrix website with direct contact information, driving qualified leads from customers actively searching for colored PPF installation.

Unlike vinyl wrap which sits on the paint surface and can be removed without protection, PALTRIX Color PPF is a genuine paint protection film that provides real impact resistance, self-healing properties, and UV protection while delivering vibrant color transformation. It protects your paint while changing your vehicle's appearance.

+Does PALTRIX Color PPF have a clear coat?

Yes. Every PALTRIX film includes an elastomeric self-healing clear top coat that repairs light swirl marks and fine scratches when exposed to heat (sunlight or warm water). This clear coat also provides hydrophobic properties and UV stabilizers that prevent yellowing over the warranty period.

+Will the color fade or change over time?

PALTRIX uses spectrophotometric color matching with Delta-E tolerance under 1.0 between production batches. Our aliphatic TPU base resists yellowing and color shift for the full 10-year warranty period. Metallic and pearl finishes undergo additional flop index testing to ensure consistent appearance across viewing angles.

+What finishes are available in PALTRIX Color PPF?

PALTRIX offers six finish series covering 200+ colors: Solid, Pearl, Chameleon, Metallic, Matte, Carbon, and Starburst. Each series has distinct visual characteristics suited to different vehicle styles and personal preferences. Visit our Colors page to browse all options.

INSTALLATION
+Can PALTRIX Color PPF be installed on any vehicle?

PALTRIX Color PPF can be installed on virtually any vehicle make and model. We provide plotter templates for 2,500+ vehicle models from 2015 to present, with monthly updates. For custom or classic vehicles not in our template library, our certified installers can perform precision hand-cut installation.

+How long does installation take?

Full-vehicle installation typically takes 2-5 days depending on vehicle size and complexity. A partial wrap (hood, fenders, mirrors) can often be completed in 1 day. The process includes surface preparation, template cutting, film application, edge sealing, and post-installation inspection.

+Do I need to remove parts from the car for installation?

Professional installation typically requires removal of exterior trim pieces, handles, mirrors, lights, and other components to achieve seamless, invisible edges. The extent of disassembly depends on the coverage area and vehicle model. Your certified installer will advise on what needs to be removed for optimal results.

+What is the ideal temperature for installing PPF?

The recommended installation environment is a climate-controlled bay at 18-24°C (65-75°F) with humidity management. Colored PPF requires cleaner preparation than clear film because opacity makes any trapped contaminant visible. HEPA filtration and positive-pressure bays are recommended for best results.

+Can I install PALTRIX Color PPF myself?

We strongly recommend professional installation by a certified PALTRIX installer. Colored PPF installation requires specialized equipment (plotter cutter), climate-controlled environment, specific technique knowledge for stretch limits, contamination control, and edge-sealing methods. Improper DIY installation risks visible defects, premature failure, and voided warranty.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
+How should I wash my car after PPF installation?

Wait at least 7 days after installation before the first wash to allow the adhesive to fully cure. Hand washing with pH-neutral soap, a microfiber mitt, and plenty of rinse water is ideal. Avoid automatic car brushes, high-pressure spray directly on edges, and abrasive cleaning tools. Use a ceramic-PPF-safe detailing spray for added protection.

+Can I use a pressure washer?

Yes, but with caution. Keep the nozzle at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from the film surface and avoid spraying directly on film edges or seams where water could lift the adhesive. Use a 40-degree fan nozzle rather than a narrow 0-degree jet. Never use heated water above 60°C (140°F).

+What cleaning products are safe for PPF?

Use only pH-neutral automotive soaps (pH 6-8), dedicated PPF-safe detail sprays, and isopropyl alcohol diluted to 10-20% for spot cleaning. Avoid: bleach, ammonia-based cleaners, abrasive compounds, wax containing petroleum distillates, and any product with dye or strong solvents. When in doubt, test on a hidden edge first.

+How do I remove bugs, tar, or stains?

For bug splatter and bird droppings: soak with warm water and pH-neutral soap for 3-5 minutes before gently wiping with a microfiber cloth. For tar and sap: use a dedicated PPF-safe tar remover applied sparingly with a soft applicator. For stubborn stains: 10-20% IPA solution on a microfiber pad with light pressure. Never scrape or scrub aggressively.

+Do I need to wax or ceramic coat my PPF?

PALTRIX films include a self-healing hydrophobic top coat that does not require waxing. However, applying a PPF-compatible ceramic coating over the film can enhance hydrophobicity, ease of cleaning, and longevity. Use only coatings explicitly labeled as safe for TPU-based PPF — standard automotive waxes and some ceramic products contain ingredients that can degrade the film's adhesive or cause yellowing.

DURABILITY & WARRANTY
+How long does PALTRIX Color PPF last?

PALTRIX Color PPF comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, fading, color shift, cracking, blistering, and delamination. With proper care and maintenance, many installations continue to look excellent well beyond the warranty period. Actual lifespan depends on environmental exposure, maintenance routine, and installation quality.

+Does PALTRIX Color PPF come with a warranty?

Yes. Every PALTRIX installation includes our comprehensive 10-year manufacturer warranty. The warranty covers material defects including yellowing, fading, color shift, cracking, blistering, and delamination. It does not cover damage from accidents, abuse, improper maintenance, or installation workmanship issues (which are covered separately by the installing shop).

+What does the warranty cover?

The PALTRIX 10-Year Manufacturer Warranty covers: yellowing, fading, color shift, cracking, blistering, delamination, and loss of optical clarity. Warranty claims are processed through the certified installer who performed the installation. Customers can verify their warranty status at verify.paltrixppf.com using their unique verification code.

+Will PALTRIX Color PPF protect against rock chips and scratches?

Yes. PALTRIX's 7.5 mil construction provides significant impact absorption for road debris and rock chips. The self-healing top coat automatically repairs fine scratches and swirl marks when exposed to heat. For deeper scratches that penetrate beyond the top coat, the impact-absorbing TPU core helps prevent damage from reaching the underlying paint. No PPF is completely indestructible, but PALTRIX offers among the highest durability ratings in the industry.

+Is PALTRIX Color PPF resistant to UV and yellowing?

Absolutely. PALTRIX uses aliphatic (not aromatic) TPU as the base polymer, which provides intrinsic UV stability. Combined with advanced UV absorbers and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) in both the TPU layer and the clear top coat, the film resists photochemical degradation that causes yellowing in inferior PPF products. This UV resistance is validated through accelerated weathering tests equivalent to 10+ years of outdoor exposure.
